Experiments in
epistemic curiosity.
Engines that run on a temperature difference. Mead made from things that shouldn't work. Every project starts with a question and ends with the data.
Engineering
Free-piston and thermoacoustic Stirling engines, linear alternators, and the parts that make them. Animated diagrams of how they work.
Enter → 02Brewing
Epistemic Brewing: mead with strange ingredients, measured properly. Gravity, temperature and pH logs for every batch, downloadable as CSV.
Enter → 03Misc
3D prints, electronics, tools and whatever else gets built in the garage. The overflow bin for curiosity.
Enter →The method
Every project is a question.
Epistemic curiosity is the urge to close a gap in what you know. Here that means each build and each batch is framed as a hypothesis, instrumented, and written up with the numbers, including the ones that didn't work.
- 01Ask the question in one sentence.
- 02Build it, or brew it.
- 03Measure everything you can.
- 04Publish the answer and the numbers.
